It's a generous offer for Grubauer, but this Caps fan would rather have Andersson and Gawdin.

I would too, but from an objective ranger fan standpoint I think this is fine for both teams

Yeah. The Caps can live with it. But they're only trying to trade a goalie for cap space, and this only saves a million. Trading him for picks and prospects preserves his value until they can afford to use it. This is definitely a solid offer. One of the better ones on here. Thanks. Actually, as talented as Ferland and Lazar could end up, this might be the first Grubauer trade I've seen that the Caps would want to make even if they're not trying to sign Carlson.

I think that Stone for Hjalmarsson has potential, too. Palmieri adds a lot of depth scoring, and I'm sure that would get him, but Calgary would have to be really confident in Andersson to trade Brodie. I'll let some Flames fans answer now, since I just wanted him for Hershey next year.

That looks like a great deal for CGY to get Grubauer. I don't love seeing Ferland go, but the whole package is a great price to pay to solidify goaltending for a number of years. Also makes one of Gillies or Parsons a very valuable and very tradeable asset.

I was hoping CGY would find a way to get Hjarlmarsson last summer but it didn't pan out. I think CGY has to add slightly to the Stone side of the deal to make this work. Stone + a late pick could work.

I feel that hjalmarsson's struggles in the desert warrant a 1-for-1 deal
