I’m not strong on Eastern Conference team’s prospect pools and current RFAs...but I’d imagine that EDM would get a bit more than Patches due to RNH’s term, age, and position. Nothing like Mete or anything crazy like that - I’d guess Patches + RFA with top 9 potential or near NHL ready prospect of same ilk + maybe one of those 2nd rounders depending on the quality of the add.

If I’m EDM I’d like the idea of Patches: desperately needed, but would need some guarantee of contract past 18-19 or would not deal.

What about a 1st round pick swap? Edm 1st No#9 vs MTL 1st No#4.
Edm would take Boqvist
Mtl would pick Wahlstrom or Veleno
= Pacc + Boqvist for RNH + Wahlstrom
Fixing both team issue= Edm: Top LW + Offense top D vs MTL 2 Top 1-2C. (I know Wahlstrom is committed to NCAA next season)

I know, this would never be a one for one deal. I'll make team will the suggestions.

That's interesting. I knew one of Edmonton's or Montreal's pick would have been traded if this deal was made.

This has always been an interesting post as both players would fit well within the traded systems. The problem is the Montreal posters think Pacioretty is worth significantly more than RNH, and Edmonton thinks RNH is worth a Kings ransom. SO WHY DOES EITHER TEAM TRADE THEM???? I think both players have more value to their existing teams than they will get in the upcoming year. Contracts, performance, (past and present) fit, and overall value says this is a deal that can't be figured. There may be deals for both players, but Not with each other. . . . IMO!
