Description
Buyout Dubinsky the following year.

With Bjorkstrand, making a Rickard Rakell like bet... have reasonably comprable numbers but Rakell was a better two way player at time of getting contract.

Sonny has tons of potential and his 1.47 goals/60 is impressive. Of players who played more than 50 NHL games this year he was only second to Auston Matthews (1.7) and ahead of Alex Ovechkin (1.4). Doesn't mean he's Matthews or Ovi by any means, but he has talent to score. Would be a good young option for the sens to replace Hoffman long term. Jenner is a solid 2nd/3rd line wing who can win faceoffs and play offense. Don't use him in a shutdown role and you'll be fine. CBJ management drools over him for his leadership and locker room presence, something Pierre Dorion would probably want. The 2nd is to seal the deal and give Ottawa a reason to complete it.

I didn't do it, but something that is starting to concern me is Zach Werenski's career trajectory. He's playing through injury now, but his career is starting to look a bit like that of Tyler Myers. Myers is by no means a bad player, but after a really good rookie year, he's become more of a 2nd/3rd pair d with offensive capabilities. Maybe this season is an anomaly, and I would wait until the 2019 draft to even remotely consider trading Werenski, but if he has another down year and wants big money (a la more than Jones) I wouldn't shut the door on the possibility. Combined with the fact that CBJ have plenty of LHD depth, its something that's popped into my mind with his struggles during the playoffs.

Switch Hoffman and Bjorkstrand,

Also trade Anderson over Jenner. Anderson is younger.

Honestly don’t really like Hoffman on this team, I’d rather leave it as is and see what happens next year.

I think werenski reminds me more of klingberg and especially gostisbehere career, impressive seasons followed by dip in points, with worse shots taken, sometimes worse overall play in following season then big bounce back. I bet he gets over 45 points next season.
For Hoffman, maybe another later pick, 3/4 round, would seal it.

Possibly, but I think with Milano's productivity and skillset it'd be unwise to part with a first on top of him. Probably what Ottawa would want at first, but if I was Kekalainen I would not part with a first if already moving Boone and Sonny.

Put Ollie and Hoff on their off wings to put them in ideal shooting position. Both are guys who can really shoot the puck and with Wennberg it'd be ideal to have those guys in a quicker shooting position. And why trade Anderson? Faster, cheaper, more productive. I don't dislike Jenner like some do, but he will be arbitration eligible and he's not good defensively. And I don't think this team will win a playoff series just sticking with the status quo. They need at least one more scoring winger (possibly Abramov, but not a lock yet).
