Leafs can easily afford to keep JVR, plenty of room. Don’t think we really need Tavares. They will also have 6.25m freed up for a top dman after marleaus contract is up. Based on 80m cap this year with conservative raise. Could go higher depending on success of Seattle team.

U see, if people were patient, this could happen, but do to impatient fans and pressure and impatient people pushing things forward saying we want to win now, especially in a market like Toronto, they’ll want that top D-man early, which means they most likely won’t wait for Marleau’s contract to end.

the leafs can afford to sign jvr, but why would they want to? same with gardiner the following year. leafs are signings other better players. oduya can't play in the league next year forget 2019. you've paid some of those rfas less then what they earn now in the nhl.
