Description

Carlson's wife is from Bethesda, he wants to stay. If we want to Re-Sign everyone, the Orpik has to go or a young guy like Burkie. I have DSP getting paid from Playoff performance so can't resign him. Orpik had a good playoff, and 1 year left I don't see trading him and a draft pick just for 1 year relief of Cap space. Gruby could get traded to Carolina as well, but I see NYI going after him quickly. A 1st could be too much, so maybe 2 2nd Rounders instead. Kempny played well but his overall year stats are not great plus Caps gave him a chance, so he shouldn't cost too much. Wilson is valuable, but his pure stats aren't amazing & could go to arbitration. If they keep Carlson under 8M/YR this roster should work & if they can get wilson cheap or carlson hometown discount, DSP could return. Samsonov could be backup, but Caps may keep him in Minors for a year to protect him from possible Seattle Expansion in 2020.

Maybe, but 10 Pts in 53 Games plus 5 Playoff pts in 24 games isn't gonna result in a huge pay-day. I see him max 1.8 - 2M per year.
