Two proven rookies and potentially another in the first for Karlsson? I'm sorry man, I just don't see it. Don't forget that Point is the natural successor to Tyler Johnson, maybe even Stammer some day. I just don't see them getting rid of him. Don't forget they already said no to trades involving him before. StevieY has proven to be methodical and has done an amazing job cultivating the team he has, I just don't see him giving all that up. Just my opinion.

Pull Sergachev back from that trade and give him the Stralman money. That is too much of an overpay for a guy on an expiring contract.

I think that you’re offer for Karlsson is realistic and is what it would take to get him. You could remove Point and add Gourde instead and it should work but you never know. The NYR trade is great for both sides. We are getting a very good RHD prospect a good leader with a bad contract and a few more picks. Just one thing I would change in that deal is that the conditional 2019 second round pick to the Rangers should become a first garaunteed.
One thing though, add a little bit (1million should be good) to Karlsson’s contract extension by simply bit resigning Stralman. Believe me, he’s great but playing with McDonagh will make Dotchin a better defenseman and he would be able to handle 2nd pairing ice time

I think the future is secure without Sergachev and Point even, the biggest concern would simply be the recycling of prospect that would likely have to come in each year, of course, that's only in the event we actually get Karlsson.
