A cap dumb, a 25 years old goalie in minor league, a 24 years old foward minor league, a 2nd and a 5th pick... all this stuff will give you the 4th pick alone from MTL....

Whoa whoa whoa, attacking Frolik's intelligence is where I draw the line. laugh

Yeah if this is the best offer I would rather just not trade Pacioretty. Wait till the TDL. That offer is probably worse then the actually offers MTL has gotten already.

Well that was a thoughtless, non-constructive, poorly spelt comment that was a waste of typing. Why would a 2nd rounder plus more only be worth a 4th rounder?

You could also word it as: a solid, top-9, affordable, two-way forward with a cup ring; a decent, ripened goalie prospect with some NHL experience, a high-skilled college standout with offensive upside; a second and fifth for a 30 year old former 30 goal scorer who a team is desperate to get rid of because they know he doesn't want to be there.

It's an another way to see, so I'll propose another trade, TJ Brodie and a 4th pick vs a 2nd pick, a 5th pick, Alzner (a solid defense with experience,), Byron Froese (top 9 foward, 2 ways player) and McNiven (McNiven is a lot stronger than Rittich). It's an equivalent trade... do you do it??

Value might be there but I'd prefer Brodie to Alzner, since Brodie has more offensive upside. Froese wouldn't crack the flames lineup, and at 27 might already be all he can be. Don't know much about McNiven but he probably wouldn't have a lot of value to Calgary since they have Tyler Parsons and Jon Gillies in the system already. Doesn't make a lot of sense to trade Brodie for another defenseman. If Calgary were to trade Brodie (or Hamonic for that matter), it would likely be to either get another scoring forward, or for a high(ish) draft pick to open up a spot for a guy like Valimaki.

A guy I could see being of interest to Montreal would be Dillon Dube, two-way guy, offensive upside, leadership, plays C. But I don't see Calgary wanting to part with him either.
