CGY would be very, very interested if Holtby would extend for under $7M beyond the current contract.

But that price is quite steep, especially if Bennett improves this year (which he will with much improved linemates in CGY's bottom 6). I think Treliving hesitates to include the 2020 1st rounder -- maybe WSH throws in a 3rd rounder to simply move CGY back, instead of losing a pick entirely?

Getting a bonafide starting goaltender beyond Mike Smith this year is officially a top priority in CGY, so you're onto something. Forwards and defense are well set for the next 2-4 years in CGY.
