Dekeyser is moved out to give Ottawa a decent defense to help nullify the blow to the top four Karlsson leaves when he gets traded. Svechnikov is brought up after the Nyquist trade and 8 defenseman is good for the development of young dmen and decline of Kronwall

I like the Nyquist trade a lot, makes sense for both teams. I'm not so sure on the Frk trade; I don't see other teams valuing him. He was waived twice a couple years ago in one season. I think Detroit gives Dekeyser some more opportunity; not sure they are ready to give up on him yet. I also don't see who would step in there for him. Cholowski is not ready yet. They will give him a big opportunity in the AHL this season to develop as a first-year pro.
