I don't think it is a stretch, he is 100% a top 6 winger, and the Flames need to replace 2 of them. Vrana fits their need perfectly. He might be a bit injurgy-prone over the last couple of seasons, but I don't think it is debilitating.

Calgary doesn't really have leverage here.
They are getting a 30-40 goal-scoring winger in Vrana. A good young player in Zadina who still has room for development. A B-level prospect in Sebrango. Could swap Wallinder, Johansson, or Viro. I could maybe improve the 2nd and 3rd to a 1st and 3rd.

Eichel is still young that he'll be in his prime when we sniff the playoffs. Detroit has a solid prospect pool, great management, and the best facilities in the league. Plus an original 6 team with history. Great cap space with flexibility to bring in UFA's.

Why wouldn't we be in on Eichel? A #1 center that fits the age and timeline of this team. Steve Y made some pretty big trades like Drouin for Sergachev.

Detoirt German Red Wings
I see lots of replies saying it at least starts at Larkin. So I guess here would be my next proposal:
Larkin, Mantha, Dekeyser, 2020 2nd round pick (WSH).
There could be other assets from Detroit like more prospects or picks, but I think that would be the core of the trade. Edmonton is giving up a special player for 2 elite players, a top 4 shutdown defenceman and a 2nd round pick.
Detroit can move Stutzle to center.

Prospect Swap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rootferdukes</b></div><div>DET might be hesitant to move him so soon after drafting him, but this could also be a good time to buy low (3 assists in his first 26 SHL games so far).</div></div>
I don't think we can assess his SHL career yet after being out almost all of last year with a back injury. He should have a bigger role on his team this year, which should show how he's progressing and what they have in him. He looked really good during development camp this year, besides being winded easily, but he should be back in game shape fairly soon. Detroit will wait on his progress as he's one of their top forward prospects besides Veleno and Zadina.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Eli</b></div><div> it might be absolutely reasonable to trade Johansen for a similarly rated forward with a team like Detroit, New Jersey, or Montreal that has a lot of forward depth, and less at defense.</div></div>
Detroit has been drafting a lot of defense prospects in the last few years: McIsaac, Seider, Tuomisto, Johannssen, along with Hronek, Cholowski and Lindstrom. Detroit has a logjam on defense at the moment.

Detroit has enough left-hand mid-tier defense prospects like Cholowski, McIssac, Hicketts, and Johansson. Berggren has shown pretty good skill and ability. He could crack the lineup in the next few years. I think I would pass on this trade.

As the disclaimer says I don't think this would actually happen. The hypothetical is that Point can't come to an agreement with Tamp Bay and they have to deal him. So what would that trade look like? What would Detroit have to give Tampa Bay?

Trade up for Byram

The GM's may not use that exact chart as a guideline, but they definitely have their own draft value charts that they use. It's not an exact science and you are right that just throwing 4 7th round picks gets you the same value, but who has 4 7th round picks?
I think that this trade actually may be right in line with what may be a deal. However, I see Colorado wanting a forward prospect that could step into the lineup this year. Someone like Svechnikov. Maybe the 60th + 6th + Svechnikov?

2019-2020 lineup
As much as I think Callahan fits in Detroit and it's a smart trade to make, I don't like the return of the trade. I don't see Alex Barré-Boulet having any sort of impact on the roster at all. More a depth player that would play in Grand Rapids. So not really seeing the value that Detroit gets back. Also, Tampa Bay will be wanting more of a return there as well, as they can just buy him out.
You've added both Zegras and Knight. How do you foresee that happening? Spencer Knight 100% gets taken before the 35th pick.

How would Hoffman look
Yeah, I agree, definitely not enough for Hoffman. I think he is a really good winger and would slot in great, but I would hope all that drama in Ottawa is over with and he wouldn't bring it to Detroit.
Adding a 5th to the deal is not close enough. A 5th round pick is a very undervalued asset and usually doesn't amount to an impact player in the NHL. I would think a 2nd round pick, maybe the NYI pick (54), would potentially get it done. Svechnikov is slightly injury prone and hasn't had the best start to his development. He is relatively untested at the NHL level, so Florida would really have to think that he will translate his game to the NHL.

That is why you are not employed by any team as a scout. Any input on why you feel he isn't good? Bad skater? Not a good shot? Can't think the game at the pro level? Doesn't play defense? Zadina had a very good first pro season as an 18-year-old in a professional league. He looked very good in his 9 game stint in Detroit. Sorry, he didn't light up the AHL, but that doesn't mean he is a bust like Nail Yakupov.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dca919</b></div><div>That's just ridiculous. You are valuing a 24 year old 30 goal score under team control for at least 2 years as worth the same as a bottom of the 2nd round pick in terms of value....see above. Come trade deadline when AA has only 1 and 1/4 more years of team control do you not think the Wings could get a 1st rounder for him? Why do you think he's worth less now with 2 years of team control?</div></div>
I agree AA is worth more. I was just trying to show that AA is not untouchable. I think he would be worth more than that 2nd round pick and swapping. I was just spit-balling that offer. Colorado won't part with Cale Makar though.

I'm not sure that is a given. AA could potentially be traded in this scenario, but Detroit wouldn't give up as much. It would probably have to be something like swap picks 4 and 6, and Colorado gets AA and Detroit gets Colorado's 2nd round pick. Not sure that gets done, but I don't think AA is untouchable.
