Description
Going all in with aome riskier moves to be a top contender.

Originally had Stone moving over for picks, prospects (probably undervalued but Ottawa tends to get short end of every trade). Totally forgot to sign Morrissey so redo without Stone. Not wuite the cup force - but solid backup, potentially best top D line in NHL and strength down the middle would improve things.

This team would be deadly for one year, afterwards it would be an issue. You would have to resign Stone, Wheeler, Connor, Laine and maybe Myers. I just don't think that it's a good fit. You'd probably have to give up Wheeler for Stone which doesn't make sense. Also, where is Josh Morrissey? He'd also probably have at least 3 million for a bridge deal.

Thanks - sloppy on my part. Had to address Morrissey so dropped Stone from the trade. Certainly lessens impact but Stone’s contract is yuge and Ottawa doesn’t want to keep salary (from what i’ve read).

Appreciate the comment.

That sens trade does nothing for them. They get worse with Smith and Anderson over Tanev and Brossoit and have to give up a 2nd rounder and a very good prospect?

I see no incentive on the jets part here

It deals an unhappy player, gains a draft pick, a young D and a top Winnipeg prospect. They get worse - it assumes they will go fully into a rebuild. That remains to be seen - but would still be a better return than Hoffman’s.
