Description
Trade happens before/during the 2018-2019 season, so EDM gets 2 years of Barrie with the intention of re-signing him.

Addressed needs:
COL - Young, secondary scoring. Make space for RHD prospects.
EDM - RHD, cap relief.

I could also see COL targeting RNH with a smaller package (1:1 for Barrie, w/picks and cap retention to balance).

I may be reaching a little bit from COL's side. I don't keep up with EDM and don't really know their needs/prospect pool.

I'd do the draisaitl trade.. I want nothing to do with RNH, I dont think varly signs for less money then he gets now, I also think that kerfoot is overpaid with this signing... but overall helps edm out with cap and takes on leon who's fallen out of favor in edm

All the re-signings can fluctuate a little bit based on the contract year. I agree I could be a little high on Kerfoot, because I doubt he'll maintain last year's pace. I think Varly's will be the most interesting - can he make it through a full season without another major injury? IF he stays healthy and plays well, I doubt he'll go below his current contract value. But he has consistently been getting injured during his current contract, and it makes the $6M hard to swallow.

I would love to see COL go for Draisaitl. Would be an awesome combo with MacK, and he keeps the youth movement going.

EDM has like 3 mill in space and needs to sign Nurse, probably their keystone dman, do you think they trade draisaitl in order to create space for him?? They are pretty good at C with macdavid, RNH, and strome.... do you think they'd move him for a 1st, kerfoot, and kamenev or bowers or kaut??

I think that would be an underpayment from COL (1st + Kerfoot + Prospect). I'd imagine EDM would want at least one prominent player included. I think Barrie is a good fit because we're deep on RHD and EDM is short on them - only really have Larsson. They drafted Bouchard this year and he's lined up to be a great player, but not sure how impactful he'll be for the next couple years (and EDM would probably keep him down this year to let his ELC slide).

As far as if EDM would move Draisaitl - I don't know. They should be able to sign Nurse with the cap relief from Sekera going to LTIR, but that still doesn't help their RHD issues. Maybe they would make a push for Karlsson and then would have to move Draisaitl or RNH for cap space. I would need EDM fans to weigh in.
