Can't cap dump a guy that has less than 1 year on a contract at the deadline. 2 months after the trade, he'll be a FA and probably retire.

I can see a scenario where the Wings move Kronwall to a team like Toronto, depending on how he holds up, and get back a piece of 2. His point totalss were reasonably good for a #3/#4 guy (though, he'd be playing as a 5/6 guy on most playoff teams). I wonder how well he'd do if he didn't take on any PP or PK team, save the wear and tear for the playoffs. Any SCF team would want him in their 5/6.

I can also see a scenario where Dekeyser gets traded with some salary retention (though, I think it's closer to 1mm in retention. At $4mm, based on his stats and value, that's about the going rate).

Nyquist is going to return a 1st round pick. Maybe not multiple pieces, but a late 1st at the deadline, especially for a playoff bound team that needs 3rd line scoring (though, if Edmonton is the team, it may be a 2nd+, but they have to make the playoffs and wouldn't give up a potential top 10 pick).

Vanek won't return a high end Dman prospect, and probably wouldn't be wanted by LA (that would be the slowest team in the NHL). I suspect a team with a ton of speed that can mask his issues will make the trade for him, and he'll return a late 2nd/early 3rd round pick. NSH, WPG, VGS would all fit the bill.

These are some extremely lopsided trades for DET.
I can't imagine LA parting ways with Clague (their best D prospect) for a couple months of Vanek, and Nyquist is nowhere worth that value right now, even if they're taking back an unhealthy Eaves.

Vanek has a full NTC so itll be very surprising if he agrees to be moved again. DeKeyser has a full ntc until the last year of his deal. Wings won't trade Kronwall. That Chi deal makes zero sense. The only move on here that does make sense is the Nyquist one. He also has a ntc though so it's up to him.
