I actually agree and believe that Nylander will not be going to the 'Canes, mainly because of his crazy contract demands of 8+ million would convince Teravainen to ask for equal amount and would make Aho demand to get paid even more than Nylander. So by adding Nylander the 'Canes would end up paying 20 + million per season on 3 guys. Though I do believe one of the 'Canes Top 5 dmen will get traded. Maybe the Leafs trade a cheap dmen (Holl or Dermott or Ljrgren) and picks for Pesce or Faulk, Slavin.

You realise how good slavin is? He's the best D man in his own zone since 2016, he's elite. Him and Pesce have been the best shutdown pairing hands down (they're also 23 and 24 btw) Faulk I can see going, because Carolina have a heap of RD men, but not either of the other two. Slavin is a top 20 D man in the league, there's no debate there.

I don't watch 'Canes play so I can't tell who their true studs are, but yes Faulk has been trade bait seems like since his rookie season. Faulk to Toronto would only work if he'll be cheaper prices than whatever Gardiner demands. If Gardiner asks for 6 million per season, than the Leafs would have to let him walk and add a cheaper guy.

Faulk is a better, right handed version of gardiner "downgrading" from Jake to Justin isn't gonna kill them... even if, Faulk is on a very friendly deal, and it wouldn't be hard to move if it didn't work
