Simmonds has 50 more career points than JVR, the same two thirty goal seasons, but six years over twenty, to JVR's five, but JVR signed a year younger, so that should counteract inflation. For all of JVR's "tough guy" reputation, SImmonds also has 800 more hits. Barring a Cup win and a storybook romance with a beautiful lady who just refuses to leave Nashville, I don't see much of a discount in the cards.
