Description
Bouwmeester is hurt and just cant skate like he used to. He brings nothing else to the table when he cannot skate like a gazelle anymore. Need to find a partner for PEtro anyways and with Fabbri looking good and healthy we have a lot of winger depth and need to make a trade similar to Nashville getting Johanson. But to a little smaller scale. OH and fire Yeo.. not that it is all on him but changes need to be made.
Could go after Alec Martinez or Olli Matta as well. Getting Howard is more for a change this year and hoping Husso is ready next year if not signing one via free agency.

This is weird. Schwartz is much better than Krug, but Howard is also better than Allen.

Why in God’s name would you trade Schwartz for Krug? Krug solves none of our issues and plus we have the next Torey Krug ripping up college hockey for UMD.

Why wouldn't you trade Schwartz? Blues have a plethora of forward depth. You do not have to agree that Krug is a good fit or like him but trading a guy like Schwartz for a top pairing LHD would be a very positive move for the Blues.

I think Schwartz and Krug are comparable, maybe Schwartz has a slight edge and maybe Boston throws in a 2nd or third round pick as well.

Also, Howard is older and his contract is expiring so value wise Allen is worth more .

Because Schwartz was our best player last year and is arguably the team MVP. It’s not a coincidence that his struggles directly correlate with the team’s struggles. It’s not really his fault that he’s struggling either considering the amount of high-danger chances set up by Schwartz that Schenn and others have missed on this year. Krug is also not a top pairing defenseman. He’s a luxury guy who’s an elite power play weapon but needs to be somewhat sheltered at even strength. I don’t think we see a trade before we see a coaching change. The Blues have been down the trade road many times in the last few years and it hasn’t exactly worked yet.
