Description

bjugstad has struggled this season and nino has had a generally rough season and a half after signing his new contract. change of scenery may benefit both, nino brings an improved defensive presence at forward to a florida team that is just not good defensively. bjugstad goes home to minnesota and adds some size and skill to that group.

a swap of injury prone goalies, and in schneider's case, he hasn't been the same in 3 years. Doubt Luongo would want to be traded but Florida and New Jersey appear to need goaltending revamps.

Is it fair to call the prospects a wash in value for the Wild trade? I really don't see either of them as being worth more. So it's basically a Nino for Bjugstad trade?

I don't know if I like the trade, but I'd be okay with it if it happened. It fits the major need for MN, and frees up a little cap space. I'd probably pass if I was MN, but I've soured a lot the last couple of years on Bjugstad. I would have to think about it a lot before saying yes or no for sure.

That would be a fair assesment imo regarding the prospects. I added them due to the fact that I think Nino has a little more to give than Bjugstad and that Hepo's ceiling is slightly higher than McBain's to try and offset the Bjug/Nino value difference.
