Ennis has a great low cap hit and has played well. Brown makes over 2M playing on the 4th line. Can't keep all of the kids.

I am on record saying Brown will likely be a casualty, that being said, he isn't worthless. Also Carolina NEEDS scoring help, TO doesn't need anything right now. A team that has needs is desperate to address them, a team with wants can be patient and make moves that make sense.

So explain to me why a team that is in the top 3 in the league and is about to add a high level talent to their lineup (Nylander) and also has a lot of cap space this season, why would they move a quality asset like Brown for a 4th round pick. I bet Edmonton would be willing to move a 2nd for Brown.

I do like Brown he has potential but has not shown the offensive ability he had in the AHL and OHL can't see them getting a second for him in my opinion.

When he played higher in the lineup as a rookie he scored 21 goals. He can put the puck in the net if he's given the right opportunity. A team that doesn't have adequate depth could use him higher in their lineup and it wouldn't hurt them at all. Look at Edmonton for example, Brown could very possibly play RW with McDavid and he'd succeed better than Rattie, because Brown in fact is an NHL player, Rattie is not.
