Description

St. Louis needs more speed up front and their net is a mess. Kapanen would fit in well, Sparks deserves a crease to get a chance in, Holl adds a dark horse depth piece and the picks would help them retool.
Toronto balances out the defence and give more youth from the Marlies opportunities to play prominent roles.
Need to clear cap space somehow, Marleau is most expendable but not sure where he’d approve a trade too, possible homecoming to the sharks.

I do like it. But realistically Marleau isn't going to be traded. So that San Jose Trade won't happen. I foresee brown being traded to make up the extra cap difference. And Johnsson will get more like 1.5m a year (Depends if they keep playing him with Matthews though).

So that last D man spot will go to Rosen or one of the other guys in the minors.

Agreed, Marleau doesn’t wanna leave. But even brown wouldn’t be enough (3 mil for this trade vs. 2 mil to brown) so idk where else they could cut from. Unless Matthews and Marner lower their prices

Rental Dman for this year's playoff push, let Gardiner walk as an UFA and than after Marleau retires the Leafs can seriously think of rebuilding their D-Corps IF the Marlies don't over achieve and fix the Leafs problems from within.
