I could definitely see them being in on Dubnyk and Spurgeon.

Well I could see a potential trade being:

Minny trades: Dubnyk, Spurgeon (1mil retained), and Viktor Rask

Florida trades: James Reimer, Mark Pysyk, Nick Bjugstad, Jayce Hawryuluk, Aleksi Heponiemi, Ian McCoshen, a top 10 protected 2020 1st, a 2021 3rd and a conditional 2022 2nd if Spurgeon resigns.

Minny would get Bjugstad who they can flip for assets in the future, Hawryluk who is tearing up the AHL and looks to be a productive top 9 winger (kind of reminds me of Dzingel in Ottawa), Heponiemi who is a special talent, McCoshen is a bottom pair d, but still young at 22, and a couple solid draft picks.

Florida would get a legit starting goalie in Dubnyk and this could be best for Luongo as he can settle into the roll that Ryan Miller has in Anaheim, being a reliable backup who can play 30ish games. Spurgeon to help out Florida and their defensive issues, could be nice next to Matheson. And Rask who could be the defensive 3rd line centre they've needed.

That’s a huge overpayment by Florida, they’ll pass and look elsewhere
