Think the Rangers would prefer Kale Clague over Jake Muzzin, tbh. Muzzin is obviously proven but think they would want to go younger with their return.

You're looking at a Yandle level-return as a starting point. So a 1st, a 2nd, and a Top Prospect. Realistically, with McDonagh's contract and rep as a Top 15 D in the league, it'll be even more. 2+ 1sts, a top prospect, and a Middle 6 F or 2nd pairing Dman is likely the minimum

If it's prospects only

2017 First Round Pick (LAK)
2018 Second Round Pick (LAK)
C/RW Michael Amadio
LD Jacob Moverare

We'd still have to include an NHL-er, or the salaries won't match.

I don't think Rangers would take that deal. Low 1st & 2nd rounders, and 2 former low 3rd and 4th round picks? Rangers can get far better

I kind of agree with this. Not that you'd probably want to deal him to NYI, but:
1) Higher of NYI or CGY's 2018 1st
2) 2020 1st (contingent that McDonagh resigns with NYI after 2018-19) If he doesn't it becomes a 2020 2nd
3) Michael Dal Colle
4) Thomas Hickey (pending UFA, middle pairing d-man but should NYR want to extend it should not cost more than the $2.5M AAV Brayden McNabb just got)

If Rangers move McDonagh they should be looking to get a top 6 center
