Columbus is gonna have to do way better than that if they want O’Reilly. Buffalo gave up two 1st round prospects, a 2nd round prospect, and a extemely early 2nd draft pick just to get him. They aren’t just gonna trade him away for some declining 2nd line AT BEST s@$t stain on skates who is 5 years older than O’Reilly and a 3rd round pick.

O'Reilly is over valued, and has been. I'll agree with you, I wouldn't like this trade at all, but I totally see something like this going down. He can be an asset to any team making a run, and in return the Sabres can get a pick(s) , and a veteran player with a winning pedigree. Don't forget, O'Reilly was the the last GM's baby, Botterill has no ties to him and can unload him without hesitation. I'd like to see a player like Dubinsky in this locker room. I know he's past his prime, but he can be very useful to a fragile locker room. I strongly believe you will see some "addition by subtraction" when it comes to this Sabres roster in the future. Sooner rather than later.
