Hawks should move Seabrook to any team willing to take his cap hit, and the hawks would pay nicely for it. With the freed up cap space, The hawks could use it to upgrade bottom six or defense.

Even if the cap increased to $82 million that only gives Chicago $16 million to sign 9 players no way can the Hawks afford to give JVR and Carlson $14 million combined you don't have the salary for it. Good luck not being even worse in the future.

I'd love for them to sign Carlson, but JVR just seems like a bad contract waiting to happen. He'll probably get that. The issue for me is in 4 seasons the team might be paying 6M+ per for a 2nd or 3rd line LW that scores 20 goals.
