Possible Workhorse Next Year

Description
I think of Korpisalo in a similar situation to what Jimmy Garoppolo was in. A lot of talent, but will never pass their starters unless for injury. Columbus has one of my favorite goalie prospects in their system (Matiss Kivlenieks) and personally think they'd be better off trading Korpisalo before he has an opportunity to walk. Yes, I know this is very unlikely but I took a stab at it. Made a trade similar to Martin Jones to San Jose (1st and Sean Kuraly (5th Round Pick)) but added more due to it being in division.

Also make this trade because as much as I love Soderstrom, I think they're gonna put him in the AHL for a year once he comes over next year.

    The idea makes sense. He's got some potential for sure. I can't fathom him costing that much though. CLB would have no choice to let him go for that. If you really want to over pay then I think CLB would gladly send him your way. IMO though, plenty of other goalie prospects that won't cost as much and are just as good available.

    Only other young goalie prospects I can see possibly being available are Lindgren and Grubauer (Already 26 and also in division)

    I agree, I'm just trying to go off past trades. Lehner got a 1st, but he was also struggling with Ottawa and carried a $2.2m cap hit. Maybe a 1st and 4th is enough alone.

    Jarry is in division pickard has lost his value dansk isnt backup lvl yet and dell isnt enoigh of an improvenent over greiss IMO and subban I imagine isnt for sale he looks like hes the heir apparent to fleury

    But Korpisalo is the next biggest thing since swiss cheese? I dunno, he's got some potential yeah but i wouldn't go overpaying like that for him yet.

    Yup but I think the optics has changed a bit. Right now, goalies aren't worth as much as they used to be. Plus looking at some previous trades for goalies, some worked out (Jones, Schneider and Talbot) but most tend to not work out. Regardless, those that did work out, those players proved a lot more than Korpi has done thus far.

    I know i wouldnt pay that much for him either im just talking about the others u mentioned
