Description
Scenario if Rangers are out at deadline. Younger players get a chance to show what they have. On defense graves deangelo show whether or not they can make it and pionk gets first crack at nhl minutes.

Additional Details:
In past teams have traded older players for first rounders (i.e. Iginla to Penguins for first and prospects). I don't think Nash garners same value, but even with not the greatest playoff performances can still bring a serious contender to give up a first to trade for him.

Additional Details:
Winnipeg adds very solid defender to left side. Morrissey and kulikov have been very good for them this year, but adding a veteran who would pair nicely with byfuglien or trouba on first pair would aid them in making a deep playoff run. They also get some value for myers who is a pending ufa. Rangers receive a solid right handed defenseman who they can sign and would pair nicely with brady skjei.

Myers and a 3rd for McDonagh is a gross underpayment. Myers, to be frank, isn't very good (47.67 xGF, which is -5.72% rel, and just 3 primary points on the season). I'm not sure why you have 2 UFAs garnering significantly larger returns than McDonagh.

I'm sorry, but I can't give this anything higher than a single star with that trade existing

Better than what rangers have now. Wasn’t sure what else they could get in that trade. Maybe prospect or high round pick?

Actually, he's not. He's around Holden level, but being paid like a 1st pairing Dman.

Switch the 3rd to a 1st, retain salary, and add in a high-level prospect, and maybe the Rangers listen. Because at that point, Myers is being treated as the cap dump he is, rather than a trade piece that could get you a 2x All Star who plays well at all strengths.
