To be fair, Galchenyuk has never shown himself to be a good center.

CJ literally answered this in pre-game interviews

chucky hits his best play since 2015 for consistency and you want him center SMH

Chucky after Eller left STRUGGLED to the point MT took **** for ''line juggling'' to the point he was fired mid season
trying to create 3rd line match ups for Chucky who was failing as a center vs top 6 players . the irony is he finally started facing off head to head vs top 6 centers
in Dec last year and his 3rd game in he had his head down not paying attention in the neutral zone and went Knee on Knee with Kopitar.

after that matching chucky up vs top 6 wasnt an option and chucky -radulov responded poorly to the reduced minutes /matchups
only having 3 and 6 points a piece from mid Jan-end of Feb in a cold streak that had everyone yelling trade chucky .
MT was fired instead of Chucky being Traded and CJ put chucky on wing followed by him producing 3 OT GWG back to back to back

literally the impact of CJ switching chucky to wing was felt immediately

Quoting: epo
To be fair, Galchenyuk has never shown himself to be a good center.

only under Eller who has Coaching in his Bloodline
as soon as Eller went Galchenyuk stopped responding to MT
then MT cut his minutes after his return from injury and he stopped back checking

get Eller back and i bet he becomes the center he was in 2015
a guy like that who is so vocal is hard to replace with a guy like Plekanecs who is less outgoing
