That PP was horrible again... I still do not understand why they don't put Dougie out there and just simply shoot pucks... LAs pp is so damn simple but it works, get the zone move it to the point and shoot it....

Personally I think we need to find a way to add a top 6/9 Forward before we can do anything, we are not going anywhere if we don't have a second line of consistent offence. I love Frolik/Versteeg but neither of them are going to be filling the net. Would be nice to have Hoffman here, at least we would have another shooter.

In my opinion the first PP unit is flawed. You don't have someone that can act as a trigger man, Gio's got the best shot of the 5, but he struggles to get shots through. Monahan has a good shot, but his release isn't quick.
Backlund has never been a scorer not sure he belongs on the top unit. It looks like the only guy out there that can enter the zone is Gaudreau, every time in the neutral zone, give it to Gaudreau... Tkachuk I do love on the first unit though

Yea I think moral of the story here is that we need a guy who has that shoot-first mentality that'll be able to help the pp. I do think though the way Cameron has the pp set up is flawed as well, they don't penetrate down low enough, don't get enough traffic in front of the net for their point shots and have nowhere near enough movement from everybody in the offensive zone. We also seem to constantly go on a trend of dominating teams but not converting our chances. A guy who can wire the puck might help change that but idk if I'm okay with giving up anymore of our draft picks/prospects.

There is very poor puck movement along the half wall, they do a terrible job of taking the open lane. We dont go low to high enough to create any lanes... Just gotta think the PP is becoming a mental wall to this team at this point...
