2 call ups
Duehr makes sense as a Ritchie replacement.
Hopefully they actually give Pelletier a chance, unlike Phillips. Two penalty-filled games then scratched.

Darryl won't be fired. If/maybe when things go sideways, you'll see a mutual parting of ways. Something he did when he left LA and CGY in his first tenure.

My Suggested Flames Lineup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KingofRnR</b></div><div>Not to mention he doesn’t seem to realize it’s a younger and faster game. He refuses to give prospects a chance or reward them for their success in the minors. He’s not wrong about them not showing enough in Training Camp, but that was then and a handful of them have done a lot to deserve call ups since then
I don’t see why we need Lucic in there every night when we have Ritchie, who’s younger and much faster and is playing well this season</div></div>
Sutter puts way too much stock in training camp. Not saying it's meaningless, but there needs to be a look at the big picture. Camp is a small sample size.
Milano wasn't good enough in camp to make the team. Then he puts up 2pts in a Caps shutout win. Ruzicka wasn't either, according to the coach. He's been better than the 10.5m man Huberdeau.

He's really loyal. Great attribute to have, less so when you're a head coach

Would much rather have Ritchie in than Lucic right now. Complete disservice to Zohorna having Lucic in there, he won’t be able to keep up</div></div>
It's feeling a bit like the late years of Sutter in his first tenure. At least he's not the GM this time...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KingofRnR</b></div><div>I’m hoping for:
Ritchie/Lewis-Zohorna-Phillips
I guess Zahorna’s been Phillip’s Centre a majority of the time this season. I know Lewis is Better Defensively and kills penalties, but I like the Speed, Strength and Toughness Ritchie brings more and he’s playing fine defensively this season</div></div>
The issue for Phillips will be that Sutter likely won't scratch Lucic and certainly not Lucic.

Zohorna probably travelled with the team, they just can't announce it until Rooney clears waivers.
Would think the 4th line is Zohorna-Lewis-Phillips tomorrow. At least I hope

Why wouldn't Levi sign? There's a clear and obvious path to playing time in the Sabres crease. Portillo should see that too.

The forward lines need a spark and they've got three of the best forwards in the AHL.
Calgary kicks off a 5 game homestand next week. If things don't turn around I think the fans will voice their displeasure. Maybe a "We want Phillips" chant lol

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Flamecity</b></div><div>I swear he got called up in the 2020-21 season and was playing good hockey, but he was there cuz of a injury I feel like if we kept him in instead of guys like nestrov he could have been a solid bottom 4 dman idk what happened to him now can’t find his game anymore</div></div>
The Flames had several games postponed during that 2020 season. It resulted in the Flames playing the Canucks four times to end the season, with nothing to play for. Mackey did look good in those games, but there was nothing to play for and both teams did look checked out. Hard to blame them as the first round of the playoffs was underway and the Flames and Canucks were still playing regular season hockey.

Amazing Goaltending Tonight BUT Thats About It
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KingofRnR</b></div><div>We need to ice the best team and see what some of our young guys have to offer before making a Trade imo. Rooney needs to be Traded or Waived to make space for them to do so.
Connor Mackey potentially as well. I feel like they’re worried he will get picked up off waivers so just have him stick on the roster but he needs playing time. I don’t buy in to too much of that age stuff when it comes to Defensemen. They usually take longer to develop and Mackey went the college route, so he didn’t turn professional until a couple years ago.
I don’t believe Tanev is 100% Healthy, so I just want to see him have better support and less ice time, so he doesn’t really injure himself. Could go 13 Forwards + 7 D-Men and have Mackey in the game too, but I’d really like to see Stone come back or what Meloche has to offer
Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy we’re getting okay results, but there’s always room for improvement and I’d eventually like to becoming dominant as a Team</div></div>
With Kevin Rooney, it might not be Hockey Ops decision, it might be an ownership thing. When the Flames had Brandon Bollig there was a similar conversation. Flames ownership didn't want to pay him north of 1m to play AHL hockey. They valued him which is why they signed him on the first day of free agency.
The Flames will be fine. There are no easy games in the NHL, but the Flames still haven't seen any of the bottom 8-10 teams in the league. They've played a lot of really good hockey teams.

I doubt they waive Rooney. The Flames really haven't waived players making north of 1m.
Mackey was extremely overhyped. He's probably a 7th D at best right now. He's older than Hanifin/Andersson/Kylington. Approaching "is what he is territory".
Tonight wasn't the Flames best. Valuable point in the bank though. They're not all Picasso's. 2-1-1 on the trip. Chance to make it a real good trip Fri and Sat

It would take a top 6 winger injury for that to happen. Even then, Pelletier might get the call before Phillips
