Description

The Seattle Kraken have officially signed Carson Rehkopf to his ELC (Link: https://twitter.com/SeattleKraken/status/1782180735484584065?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet). I expected this would happen once his OHL season ended, as the Kraken have typically signed prospects to their ELCs after their junior seasons conclude.

Rehkopf will head to the AHL to help the Firebirds with their upcoming playoff campaign. I didn't know much about him when he was drafted, but in his draft plus one season he burst onto the scene and has certainly outperformed his draft stock to this point. I'm looking forward to seeing how his career develops now that he's officially under contract. The Kraken signing Rehkopf is a good reminder that even though this season was underwhelming, they are still building and have quite a bit to look forward to in the near future.
