Yeah, I could imagine the Blue Jackets being interested in renting a couple of all time great players having yet another pretty good season. They haven't been competitive much, in their history, and would probably love to make some noise in the playoffs.

How much of Plekanec and picks is for Gagner vs. Granlund. The Caps are without Kuznetsov for a bit. Burakovsky or Eller could fill in at 2C, but if it's Eller, they could use more of a two way 3C to finish out the season. Gagner strikes me as a good fit, given his offensive potential and his checking line experience.
