idk what is worse. trading a #2C a 1st and a third liner to arizona for a bust and a 3rd or signing kovalchuk to a 2 year 12m contract.

Wouldn't really call Strome a bust yet, he's only 20.. Turris didn't breakout until he was 23

What would you sign Kovy too then? He's a preliminary goal scorer and the term is only 2 years. Strome would breakout next to buddy Debrincat trust me

he was supposed to be an instant star. he isn't. if he is not even good enough right now to play for arizona right now who has derek stephan as a #1C and the worst team in the league, then he is a bust. and kovalchuk i wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole. he turns 35 and hasn't played in the NHL for a long time. id much rather spend that 6m for a younger player.

Some take longer than others. And again he's 20 why bring him up to Arizona when they are terrible to begin with. Misewell let him tear up the AHL and see what next year brings

ok. but even if he was a good player today, i wouldn't give up anisimov, a 1st and hartman for him. his value is nowhere near that.
