Hey.
Curious what other people are thinking .

My thoughts are that Maroon, Slepy, Letestu, Benning and Strome should all be moved on or before draft day. Does anyone else think someone else should be moved? Do you disagree with anyone on my list? I believe that our first round pick should be untouchable. Also Mcd, drai, pulju, nuge, nurse, klef, yamo should be untouchable.
I feel like some are no brainers to move (maroon, letestu) and others may need some convincing.

I say Benning because he played above his head big time last year. He will want a raise and we dont have the funds for both him and Nurse. I think Nurse over Benning is a no brainer. Specially with some upcoming defencemen.
Slep should get a change of scenery. Dont care if he turns into a solid bottom 6. So dont tell me he might put up 30 points someday. Dont care. Dont agree.

We need to accumulate draft picks and younger players at this point. We are strapped in as for long term contracts so now we must go the same route as other teams that have already established greatness although we have done nothing significant. What i mean by that,
Usually when you have salary cap hell for signing big contracts, your team has enough top end talent to survive while picking up bargain veterans and developing talent properly. Edmonton skipped the winning part. It does the future of this team no good to shift the future for now or next year.

Who do you think is a target? Obviously we have some holes on this team. Here is what I see.
We need RHD. Simple. A puck moving one. Justin Faulk of Carolina?
We need a top end left side winger.
Both of these needs could be filled this draft year.


I understand that a lot of you think that Edmonton shouldnt be trying to build through draft but reality says its the only way forward without massive tinkering.

The NMC and NTC are going to hurt in the next few years i think.
