Can't say I blame him, if that is indeed the case.
Until Tavares decides to sign or go, do nothing, because if he leaves, you could be starting mostly from scratch.

With the situation on defense and in goal, compounded by losing your 1C, this team is not going to turn it around before other pending UFAs potentially depart over the next 2 years, and you could see a mass exodus if Tavares leaves.

Why Snow would come out and say this while Tavares is still undecided, is beyond me. He has 1 playoff series victory during his tenure, and that statement doesn't inspire confidence that he will make the necessary moves to change that.
