I shouldn't criticize a fellow Commonwealther or a guy who has the same birthday as my mother.....but that Thornton contract. It's pro hockey not golf. I wouldn't offer Thornton a one year deal due to health(knee) and age.
Your UFA signings seem to follow the path, an unfortunately a very productive one.
No Ladd isn't a good veteran. He is overpaid on a long contract, just what teams don't want in a cap league.
