That line-up would not get you to playoffs in the NHL, and Murray wants to make the playoffs and win the cup next year as it is his last year. This is not a line-up that proves that Ottawa is trying to put together a good team. Plus, the money you gave Stone is ridiculous, maybe next year, but not soo soon.

We're about to enter a 7 year lucrative deal for a player that was invisible in crunch time last year and need to move him before it's too late. Yeah, Ryan stays. He probably won't play as bad as he did last season ever again, but if he does, he will be traded. But even if he doesn't play well, his presence with the team is great, he has soo much passion and drive, I feel like he elevates the team's play in general if not for himself. Besides, he played hurt for most of the season.
