NYR are in no position to take Bozak nor sell McDonagh for little return.

Bozak to NYR does not make sense because Bozak has an expiring contract and thats not what a rebuilding team like the Rangers are looking for. NYR can easily get better for McD anywhere else. They may like the 1st round pick but you will also have to add a roster player like Gardiner or Carrick, although they will be asking for a Nylander or Marner. You would also have to add a prospect. So a realistic trade could possibly be Gardiner, Bracco, 1st & 2nd, or Connor Brown, Lilegren & 1st

Maybe Nelson for all three, you aren't getting picks and Mayfield. An AHL goalie and a healthy scratch. Carrick is the only think that has any value there.

Pickard isn’t an AHL goalie. The leafs just have the deepest goalie group ever (maybe other than Vegas).

Other ways, I think the trades are a good start. Get rid of the picks in the Nelson trade, and replace Bozak with either younger guys or picks.

My thoughts exactly.

Take out the extra on NYI side and that's good.

Take out Bozak and either the 2nd or 3rd and add maybe Leivo, Borgman and either Carrick or Nielsen.

With Bozak being on an expiring deal, you'd have to give NYR time to flip him which means it would've been done by now.
