during an interview with NBC Boston on Thursday.

“I think it’s been factored into conversations between me and [Bruins general manager] Donnie [Sweeney] that we have a group with some real togetherness there this season,” Cassidy said openly. “At the end of the day if you can add and make your team better then you always have to look at it, and Donny is looking at that right now.

“Adding Holden I think he’s done that and we’ve added some more depth. But after that I do worry about if we subtract somebody from the room. If you’re adding and you’re not subtracting, i.e. future assets, then as a coach you always prefer to go that way. But Donnie will do what’s best and as a coaching staff we’ll take it from there so to speak. But there is a good chemistry with that group…a very good chemistry in that locker room.”

I don't like Schenn or Jooris signings. Not sure that's enough for MacQuaid.

I'm not sure I like Karlsson in Boston. He's very good, but there's some die by the sword that comes with him. The B's might be better off standing pat.

Hence why its an offseason move and not at the trade deadline. Offseason is the time to make the bigger moves because come the beginning of the next season its a fresh start for all the teams.

Schenn and Jooris give you depth NHL players in case the younger players aren't getting the job done. McQuaid is a salary dump. I agree Karlsson might not be a great fit in Boston but it is interesting to look at how he would fit

Oh, I understand, but I think keeping McQuaid and not signing Schenn or Jooris is almost a wash salary-wise, and the B's are better off.

Fair enough. I can see what you're saying. Was just looking at a way to disperse the salary through the lineup
