The Karlsson trade needs some fixing before Dorion accepts. The Habs can get more in return for Plecky and Schlemko because of the rarity of centers in the market. The Niemi trade works for MTL, I like the idea of it, but Vegas already has goalies.

Do you think Karlsson is bad? Shea Weber is more useful than Bobby Ryan but his contract is way worse. Like let's keep in mind Karlsson is the most valuable trade asset since Kovy and I'd say he's more valuable than Kovy was.

Eugene Melnyk is more concerned about his money don't look at the players here look at the money saving. Weber next year will be paid 6 millions or less starting next year. In Byron you get an Ottawa native that scores more points than Bobby Ryan for 5 millions less. I agree it can be tweaked but you get the picture.

While I understand and completely agree that Eugene is the worst, it still doesn't seem realistic to me. Maybe realistic isn't the right term because it's the NHL. But Ottawa just doesn't have to take back that amount of money in the trade because there are teams that would offer better cheaper options to both players. Trading Bobby Ryan is going to be tough and personally I think it's stupid they are weighing down Karlsson's trade value by including Ryan.
