There's absolutely no way Carlson signs for that little. The Rangers trade is terrible - you're giving up our only top-6 NHL RW for a 30y/o RW who's more of a playmaker than a shooter AND only has one year left on his deal. Even if you're dumping the Russell contract, that's nowhere near worthwhile. No thanks, just buy him out and keep Puljujarvi. Underpaid Nurse by about $1.5M as well, no chance the Oilers sign Larkin or Jenner (or other club-controlled RFAs, they have to be traded for). Maroon probably signs for around $3M, so you're not terribly off there. Most of the Lucic buyout years cost more than a middle-six forward. His contract is essentially buyout proof, why not trade him for another bad contract that has less of a cap hit and retain a million or two?

Why are Pakarinen and Rattie - who shouldn't be playing in the NHL - making $1.5M each? Why is Yamamoto playing his off-wing, and more importantly, why are he and Bear on the NHL roster to begin with? Neither player is ready for big league action.

I'm not super against the Anaheim trade, but there's no way it should happen. Firstly, Anaheim doesn't need any more centers, so why are they trading for one? Second, why are there picks going back to Anaheim? That trade's essentially a wash one-for-one, if not biased in favour of Anaheim without the picks.

So much wrong with this. Why would you trade a 19 year old trending to be a 30 goal scorer for a declining 30 year old?
What did you do with Lucic?
John Carlson will go for atleast 7m
Yamamoto is a RW so keep RNH to play LW who is also trending very well. The ducks probably won't go for the trade anyways.
I can't see us getting Jenner for 3m but Strome is a good substitute either way.
Your bottom line wingers are all wrong. Cagguila and Slepyshev have finally started to look more like themselves since their injury. If they are replaced as bottom 6 forwards the only people skilled enough to do it currently in our system would be Aberg and Benson. Rattie will never be more than an extra. Pakarinen will never be more than a 4th line forward. Also, I don't know why you would even try to replace Cagguila and Slepyshev, both are capable of putting up over 10 goals in a bottom 6 role for a 1m cap hit which is quite good.
Russell and have Sekera have NMC until summer 2019, so move them in a year.
The one plus to this is getting Larkin instead of Lucic for McDavid, haha that would be amazing.

Larkin McDavid Yamamoto
RNH Draisaitl Puljujarvi
Cagguila Strome/Jenner Slepyshev
Aberg Khaira Kassian
Extra
Benson Pakarinen

Nurse Larsson
Klefbom Benning
Sekera Russell
Extra
Jones Bear

Agree with everything you said, except I expect Yamamoto to be ready for the NHL next year. He was close this year. He didn't put up points in his 9 games, but he created chances, didn't give up too many chances, was smart about his size, and had a good corsi.

His stint in the NHL killed a lot of his confidence for when he was initially sent back to Spokane, and it dragged on into the WJCs. He's only now began ripping the WHL apart again. Kid's averaging like >2ppg it's nuts. If he wasn't going to be AHL eligible next year I'd have him on the big club, but he will be, so I see no harm in giving him an extra year to earn an NHL paycheque.

You might be right, we'll have to see how he does in training camp next year. I get what you're saying, especially considering I don't think we will be contenders next year so why rush him. 2019-2020 after we can trade Russell and Sekera we might be able to become contenders. But, I wouldn't be surprised if he earns a job based on performance, if he outplays most of the other wingers on the team it would be hard to justify sending him to the minors.

It is nuts how well he's playing in 2018. Super excited for him and Pulj to be our two top RW for years to come!
