Tavares Signing + Darling Trade

Description
Was aggressive with tavares, but had to be cautious with cap space because aho and teravainen are due extensions next summer. Canes need to upgrade the bottom 6, guys like PDG, Stempniak, Ryan and Nordstrom are useless. There are several players in the system that are ready to make the jump.
Could have necas or lindholm play 3c, but I prefer Lindholm at center here. Necas playmaking ability could greatly help skinner score more consistently.

Nedeljkovic is on the rise as well. Could use Ward that one extra year and then just let Ward walk after to use Nedeljkovic as a backup.

Ive heard only the team that owns a FA can sign 8, others can only get 7. Anyway, I think the Canes could get a little bit more in those deals, and is Grubs not an RFA this summer?

Mtl say yes... but why Rask for a 7th? you don't like him?

Rask has been regressing for over a year now, never moves his feet, plus if we landed Tavares and Lindholm was 3C, he is not needed. I viewed it as a salary dump, figured montreal could use him as a 3C. Ask any knowledgeable canes fan, he is not good.

1. You can only offer JT 7 years. Not 8
2. I think there are places he would rather play that can pay more than 11 mil.
3. Why are you giving away Rask? He is good.
4. What are you giving Washington for Grubauer's RFA rights?

You can only sign Tavares for 7 years not 8 years, And Carolina isn't a Tavares away from cup contention. Therefore i see him signing elsewhere.
