what the rangers will look like next year most likely, this is assuming the rangers get the number 7 pick and that player spends the year in the minors, same with the pick they got from boston which will probably end up at 27, they will probably trade tampas pick and some players for another pick around 4-6, that player too will spend the year in the minors so as to not waste a year of their contracts, they will probably trade some other players for picks as well maybe

I know picking high is new to Rangers fans, but #6 OA is going to need more than that.

I mean-- consider stepan and raanta for #7 and deangelo. Deangelo = raanta for arguments sake.
The value for stepan = #7 overall (maybe not in this draft though)
zucc + spooner > stepan so I do see the logic here, it's just getting a team to bite. only team I can see doing that in the range you are looking at is Edmonton.. so i think it is entirely possible because well, chiarelli.

yeah I cant see Vancouver doing it but I can see EDM and MTL doing it since MTL wants to win now with price and EDM wants to win now with McDavid, spooner and zuccarello would be good supporting pieces for them, it just matters on getting them to accept it, if its just getting their pick and not the 7th or the 2019 2nd then I'm fine with that and I think the 2 players and a pick is fair value since you are trading 2 established players and a pick that probably wont be a good player for a high pick that has a higher chance of being a good player but not guaranteed
