there are only 3 teams with a good shot at Karlsson (4 if you include OTT), NY, NYI, VGK. If Garth wants to win over Tavares into staying, this could help.

Edit: hand shake that Karlsson extends; also reduced the edmonton trade.

Well, as an islander fan, I’d prefer not to part with Pulock. Also, I’m very hesitant to believe Karlsson would waive for the isles and I can’t see them make this kind of move without a commitment on an extension. it would literally cripple the isles if he just left in a year

So the best chance to get Tavarez to stay is to reduce their cap space for him by signing Karlsson to 13 or whatever he gets. Thatd screw the Isles if Tav and Karlsson stay. Look at what it has done to Chicago

Karl is likely 11 million and your cap is going up to 80 mil. Hes 6.5 next year and you have a 4 mil goaltender comming off contract. If the cap goes up again, I think your team has a legit chance at the cup with Karlsson if they resign DeHaan
