"For the sake of trading". Could reason for making the post. Bracco, Brooks, Liljegren, Nielsen Leafs next year?

Gardiner can fish more than what would most likely b a late 1st. Martin for a 4th seems to b most popular. Calgary doesnt need that stuff to give away Tkachuk. The Leafs would b dumb to make that deal w/MTL.

No one is giving up a 1st rounder for Gardiner, especially this years (poor) version. And that Tzachuk deal....Kapanen and a 2nd. I'm sure Calgary goes for that. And yes TmmyL shoots right, with the Marlies next year.

Not a bad offer for Tkachuk, but he's pretty much untouchable here in CGY.

He does... I don’t see how upgrading on Zaitsev should have any effect on Liljegrens development, if anything a veteran like Weber would be a good mentor, no?

I wouldn’t be surprised if Liljegren makes the team out of training camp next year. Good point on the other three, but the leafs do have other options

I know why Gardiner is hated he makes stupid mistakes. But you realize he’s 2nd in the NHL at 5 on 5 points for a D man? Teams would pay more then a first and honestly we don’t have anyone to replace him.
Weber sounds like a disaster of a deal because he’s locked up for the next 6 years. And by signing Tavares we now no longer have space to sign Mitch or Auston.

You would still have space in 2019, do the math it can definitely work. Weber at 5,000,000 is gonna give you more flexibly then a UFA like doughty at probably 10,000,000 for just as long. The leafs absolutely have an in-house replacement for Gardiner (who i know is really good) in Travis Dermott and if we don’t trade Gardiner now we’ll lose him for nothing.

Those offers arent anywhere close to fair value for Tkachuk or Weber. Also why would Tavares take a discount for a 2nd time in his career?

First off good luck convincing Marc Bergevin in eating close to $3 million per on Shea Weber's contract for the next 8 years or so, No way he's retaining that much to move Weber and i'm pretty sure the Leafs would want a younger D man in return.
