Initial Creation Date: Apr. 25, 2018

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
1. Worst case, MTL is drafting 6th. Assuming the draft goes in order based on Hockeyprospect.com Top31. Draft Wahlstrom, let him go to Harvard for the season and develop. He's 17, let him play 2. Pirri can do 1 thing and that is score goals. plays every position. 3. Beagle fills the 4th line and good PKer. if season goes bad, flip him for what ever you can at the deadline. low cap, should be easy.
4. alot of buriable contracts here. I like depth and i like guys who can play in different areas. Obviously Desharnais is there as a potential safety valve if a top 9 center goes down. we all know he can play power play and with patchs but that can be arguable.
5. I tried to sign guys who can be flipped at deadlines, Except desharnais. he is a dump in the AHL if things go bad or a buy out.
6. I will trade Alzner for new roller blades if I could.
7. this should leave room for Ellis signing in the 2019 off season. I think he is a 5 million Dman, but that's me.

I think Ellis goes for more than 2 2nds, add Juulsen for sure.
Montreal will keep all their picks this year unless its the 5th.

I know MTL will keep the picks and I kind of hope they do just to restock the farm, but I would have no issue with trading 2 2nds for ellis. and instead of Joulson, I would put mete in. MTL has been very patient with Joulson so i would be beside myself for allowing them to develop him the right way to trade him away. I would make the 2nds MTLs(probably a 34th, so basically a late first in my mind) and the Chi 2nd. would be in the late 30s still.

Why would Ellis extend with us?
      There are much better teams.
Like i said Ellis wont go for 2 2nds. You are looking at at least a 1st, a 2nd and very good prospect.
