Description
Canucks take on NYI worst contracts to get their firsts and seconds. Canucks give Tanev and the islanders have room to resign Tavares and other free agents.

In 2019 Canucks still have tons of cap space and they can send their young guys to Utica so they don't have to endure such a painful season

Getting all those picks for... A rebuilding team with Jim Benning on it is a dream. Cap dump for all other teams would be their dream.

no team will give up 1st rounders this year that are top 15 for bad contracts. The amount of great prospects this year unheard of in years its being compared to the 2003 draft.

That's actually not true, this year's draft is very top heavy but after awhile it get more average similar to a normal draft.

Last year's draft, although there wasn't an elite players it was balanced all the way through.

Swap Boychuck for Clutterbuck and Mayfield or Pelech and I can swallow it more. Boychuck is fine and isn't a problem for us.

The Canucks take on the worst contracts but in the end they get really good prospects and ones that can fill the hole in their prospect pool. Plus canucks won't contend for another 2-3 years and they have plenty of cap space to pull this off

Chicago gets massive cap relief allowing them to go after UFA's. Its actually a better deal than people think because I don't think Chicago should throw the towel in on a REBUILD yet.

The new York islanders get rid of 2 terrible contracts which allows them to resign Tavares and go after UFA's. Barzal and Tavares are elite centers and building upon that is great for their franchise. They should also sign a good goaltender and a good defenceman. Adding Tanev also helps because he's very good and can net a 1st and 2 2nds by himself. Although he's injured a lot so maybe just a 1st.


This is a good deal for all involved!

Actually the McDavid and Matthews draft were unheard of. Last years draft and this years draft aren't good. Although the 2019 and 2020 draft are supposed to be back to unheard of.

this draft class is supposed to be better than mcdavid's and mathews as in top 15 available not just top 2 or 3.

I know it's not just about the top 2 or 3 or I'd be saying this years draft class is unheard of like you.
