Description

Assumptions: Cap moves to $78M, Nichushkin returns to Dallas, Hanzal is not healthy to start the year, Stars keep Spezza (for whatever reason), Their game moving forward is a possession game (no more dump and chase every time)
Why Keep Spezza? (Personally I don't know but let try it out (yes they are over the cap because of it) )
1. Career and consistent 50+% faceoff winner, if Dallas is going to transition into a possession team they will NEED to win those faceoffs.
2. Career shooting 13%, last year he was at 5.8%. Age? Health? Maybe but one could gamble on a "Contract" year performance and we may see a number somewhere closer to what we are more familiar with
3. He is a possession player, when he or his teammates has the puck plays happen. Is he a point per game player? Probably* no but I also don't think he is a below .40 point player.
4. This one is more of a personal reason but I think it would be cool to see game 1000 and 900 career points in Victory Green next year
