Rationale:
1st Line: For better or worse, the "superstar line". Staal's numbers are down this year but some of that can be attributed to a career low shooting %. Nash and Brassard have already proven to work well together so adding him to that line could just open up space for him. Plus his production in the playoffs could help Nash.
2nd line: This line does not change. This line is playing well and is more of a secret weapon. There is no doubt the "superstar" line will call for the opposition's top D-pairing so the 2nd line will, in theory get easier assignments. With Kreider's speed and size, Zucc's passing and Stepan's two way play this line could be dangerous, especially with Stepan and Kreider having a lot of chemistry. There are a lot of opportunities for stretch passes or dumps to send Kreider to "go get it."
3rd line: Yes, I know Miller is the hottest Ranger since January 1 but that just shows how deep this team can be. Hayes' play has picked up significantly and Stalberg is playing well too. This line is young, fast, and BIG. Use this line as a forechecking line to wear down the opposition. Hayes and Miller can really drive the offense while Stalberg can chip in and help defensively.
4th line: All three of these forwards are very responsible defensively. All three of these forwards have the ability to skate. This is the type of line that can chip in offensively or drive possession while also able to shut down the opposition's top line. Late in the 3rd period, with a lead, Stalberg and Lindberg could flip as I believe Stalberg is trusted more defensively but nevertheless, this is a team that can roll 4 strong and deep lines!
