It's VERY VERY hard for Dmen to play a role in the NHL right after being drafted. Dahlin can. Ekblad...another #1 Overall did. But even the other top young Dmen like Provorov spent 2 years developing in the WHL and McAvoy 1 year @ Boston. I mean not 1 single Dman from the 2017 draft played 1 single game in the NHL this year. I just don't think that's a realistic expectation for Bouchard...who some argue is the 4th best Dmen in this years draft. I think we'll be lucky if Jokiharu comes in and contributes in a meaningful way.
