      Yes that would be big changes. No reason for Canes or Isles to make those trades, or for Carlson or Tavares to sign with Habs.

      Shaaw has negative value because of his horrid contract, Pacciorety is good yes but not worth a top prospect and a solid top 4 defenseman who has elite potential.

      I agree with all of the above. The Islanders don't want Shaw, especially not the one that will be on the LTIR until November, perhaps a lot longer. There are plenty of teams that would want Pacioretty and give you a good prospect/pick for him (likely not two, though) but the Canes aren't one of them. It has been so long since they've seen the playoffs, Pacioretty isn't the kind of player they need.

      As for Yakupov, WTF?!!!! He won't even get a qualifying offer from the Avs. He has played his last game in the NHL. He had 16 points!!! The year before, he had 9 (and cost the Blues $2.5M). There is no player there. He is a washout. Even at the league minimum, he's not worth it. I wouldn't trade a used jock for him, let alone Lehkonen, who has some decent upside.
