Teams are not going to give up those picks for mediocre players with the salary and term they have. If you think they are worth that then keep them. If you packages those players with a prospect or a pick, you might get someone to trade for them.

dont focus on the round just focus on them being picks. this is the main idea not what would actually happen in detail

Point is that it will be hard to dump them without giving up value. No one wants those guys...not even the blues. Blues will have to give up a solid prospect or a first or second to dump them.

Blues are better off keeping them than retaining enough salary. They need to dump the salary and term. Retaining doesn’t help the issue.

Also, No one is desperate enough for 2 third line guys with limited upside, who are overpaid and have the term they carry. Every team has prospects that can do what they do. Keep in mind they don’t bring much to the table. They are just guys. They aren’t good players.
